Senior Strategic Advisor

West Coast

David Driskell

As one of the original organizers of the Peer City Convening in 2018, David worked to bring staff from the Pacific Northwest's largest cities (Seattle, Portland, and Vancouver, BC) into conversation about shared challenges and solutions related to affordable housing and displacement, mobility, equity, sustainability, and resilience. He continues to advise the group on transformative, durable, integrated policy responses.

In addition to serving as Deputy Director for Planning and Community Development for the City of Seattle, he previously served as Director of Planning, Housing, and Sustainability for Boulder, Colorado, and as the UNESCO Chair for Growing Up in Cities at Cornell University. He is a partner at Community Planning Collaborative, a planning consultancy that works across the western US to advance inclusive planning practices and creative policies for thriving communities.
